Grade 12

According to my agenda (and my personal countdown with in it), there are 65 more school days (excluding all weekends, exams and holidays) until I graduate. The best part of grade 12 is here right now, first semesters marks are in for university acceptances, people have started receive early acceptances, filling out scholarships has become a favourite activity. And amongst it all we still manage to have time to have fun.

Right now I'm on my spare, I had originally planned to work on a scholarship "essay" (I used quotations because a 500 word essay does not really seem like an essay in my opinion.), but I have given in to procrastination. I most likely wouldn't have gotten far anyways, since next to me my friend is freaking every time she hits enter because she loses the information on the form she is filling out. At least hitting enter brought her attention to the fact that she had easily been running over the 50 characters with spaces rule. She is now attempting to write a 300 word thing, since I still believe essay is and inappropriate word for a blurb about one's self. The more frustrated she becomes with it, the harder I begin to laugh.

As I have mentioned we still are able to have fun. There was the Nire's birthday party in which six of us slept on two air matresses, or at least until Maxine left because the air matress we were on slowly deflated over the night.

This past weekend, five of us (Nire, Olive, Maxine, Sarly[previously twin 2] and I) went shopping and to see some movies. I was teased relentlessly over my tatse in guys, while we bugged Olive for being the only one who bought anything. With the mall closing an hour before the movies we wanted to watch started, we headed to the arcade within the theatres to play some games. After losing and winning some games at air hockey, we finally managed to see the movies.

Since the movie Maxine and Sarly went to see was out before ours, they waited for us, playing the racing all the while. When we reached the arcade we began to scan the front lobby to see if we could find them, not noticing that they were playing the game in front of us (both Nire and I thought they were other people). After Maxine beat both Nire and Sarly at the racing, I took her head on and won. She has now claimed that we must race once again some day, but this time ensure that we do not use a winding course.

Many people hear that grade 12 is the best year of high school, now that I have reached that point in my life I agree. It is due to the thrills that come with applying for next years schools of choice, watching others freak over the exact same thing you are, yet learning to deal with it all and having fun at the same time. The year passes by quickly, but you will make many more memories than you can expect. And who knows, maybe I will make more since the year is not yet over.

The snow is finally gone. For a couple days the weather actually reached above zero so it was warm. The only problem is after one day with warm weather it began to rain. We had two days of raining drabby warm weather before the tempature dropped again. Nothing had really happened since exams, I managed to update my fanfiction. Planned to aim to get a scholarship, but it will take a while to find out if the group can aim to get it. If we managed to get together tomorrow and get almost everything figured out we should be able to reach our goal, what ever the goal aims to be.

Working On the List

Having a bunch of short term goals on my list worked out well. I've handed in my English ISU and got it back, 87% on it, which should raise my mark. I've finished reading One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, a day after the class during my spare but still finished it. Presented in Peace and Politics, my group did amazingly well, 88%, 90%, 90% (although we aren't suppose to know our marks yet, but Maxine needed a mark update so I managed to see our group mark). I haven't handed in my paper yet, but its basically done but I need to read it over again before handing it in on Monday. I've update my fanfiction, but with the end of semester coming up I haven't had a chance to work on my own stuff. And

I have finally applied to university!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have received responses about all three universities recieving my applications. I don't plan on getting early acceptance from any of the universities since I know that two of my marks this semester will be lower, although I should come out with over an 80% average since I get an extra 3% added onto my math mark since I tutored (thanks goes to Nire who agreed to be tutored when the person I was suppose to tutor never showed up, as well as getting her dad to sign for the 8 hours I tutored her online before one test). The worst part is now to come, waiting for responses from the universities.

2009

Happy new year!!!!

It's only the start of 2009 and I have so many things that need to be done and soon. I need to apply for university, I need to write my english essay (rough draft is due Tuesday), I need to apply for some scholarships and find out when OSAP needs to be in by. I need to find a job (although I don't plan on working until the summer) I need to study for my upcoming exams. I need to read more of One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest (more English homework), I have a Peace and Politics seminar and paper due second week back at school. And the school related (the job is to help pay for university making it school related) list continues.

For myself, I want to continue working on my fanfiction stories, I get some great feedback from there which can carry over into my own writings. Carry on with my writings, especially if I want to be done in time for next years scholarship, as well as all the essays I write. Get fit, as many others are porbably hoping to do. End the semester with good marks, end the school year on the honor roll...

Although if I want to do all these things, I may want to stop talking about it and try getting somewhere. 8D

Don't Multitask

My new computers motto. I'm thankful that I finally have my own laptop, although I'm back and using my mom's again. I'm also thankful for the offer from my stepdad's brother to work technological magic and make the computer run well. For right now I'm using two laptops. Mine to play the little music I've put on it and the one for typing this up. I've discovered trying to do more than one thing on my laptop doesn't work well. Earlier I was trying to listen to music and surf the web, this resulted to the music becoming completely choppy and sounding hilarious. The only problem I have now is that I can only plug in one computer at a time and my laptop lasts an hour without being plugged.

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!!! Can't wait for the New Year. Thinking about it, I can with the new year comes the due date for my English essay, I procrastinate to much an now only have a week left to write it.

The Storm Is Over

Now as long as the roads are mainly cleared I should survive. My last minute shopping shall be very last minute as in hopefully I can make it to the mall tomorrow. I may have to walk though since the roads are horrible. Yesterday's (seeing as it's after midnight) entertainment was vehicles unable to move. None of the roads have been cleared and although the main ones aren't horrible, the side streets are a mess. It will be days before the plows even hit my area because it is normally the last area to be cleared.
I'm just hoping that the snow won't ruin tonight's plans. The September sleepover already had to be cancelled, and the next isn't planned until after exams are over (unless we have an study session that runs late and no one wasn't to drive). Plus it's the Christmas sleepover. If we aren't able to get together for our gift exchange tomorrow we may have to wait until after Christmas is over and the excitement is gone.
That and how often can you stay up late with your friends watching Christmas movies. Once a year unless you have a random Christmas night in the middle of the summer. Either way I really don't want the plansto be cancelled due to the storm. That and rumor has it more snow is heading this way.

SNOW DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure if the school itself was close, but either way the buses weren't running so I didn't have to go to school today. The only problem is that I was hoping to get some Christmas shopping done today ad by the time I got up the snow had gotten pretty bad. I still have tomorrow to get the shopping for my friends done (though it may seem last minute I haven't had time to go yet) so I may have to wait until tomorrow. At least I have a plan as to what I wnt to get them which wll make my life a little easier.
